hiring vs. budget cuts = firings

i'm currently getting on w/ your dept. from another & whats the word around your station as to budget cuts (if any) and whether or not it'll force the dept. to lay off some cops. Don't tell me that "Cops NEVER get laid off" just read the news...in Michigan alone 100 cops are slated to get a pinkslip in the summer. :cop: Positive and Constructive advise is much appreciated. Thanks.

My opinion is that they will not be laying anyone off anytime soon. We are down 40 + officers and retaining entry level cops is saving them alot of money. They also applied for the cops grant from Obama which pays for new officers for at least three years. :mrgreen:
