This place is a joke. I can't believe the Police Chief comes out on a call and tells an officer to unarrest a tribal member for domestic violence when there is clear probable cause. The chief is breaking the law. How about following the law and not making the council happy.

No one has a right to take a prisoner away from an officer. The officer did his job. We wasn't there at the scene. The officer seems upset about the chief interfering. The officer did his job the chief did not. Confidence and respect is gone. What are the real facts? If tribal members can not be arrested, why have a police department?

Ill tell you what a joke is. The joke is that everyone who says how this place is a joke, simply will not leave. I will not put to much into this "story" because we have all arrested indians, tribal members, or whatever. I for one have arrested someone of influence and they did in fact call the Chief. Will simply said to me "take him to jail." Now this person who did not make the arrest can never again make an arrest for DV. Now what if this officer gets fired for something totally different? Listen everybody, it doesn't matter who post what!!! It doesn't take anything away from what happened. And I do not know the whole story! BUT, if the Chief did what I heard he did, and what everybody is saying he did, not only is it "WRONG" it is against the "LAW". Also it is a slap in every Officer's face that works here. He put an Officer's career on the line, so a Tribal member wouldn't go to jail for a crime that they committed. It makes me sick to my stomach, and its very sad!!!! You know what, i dont get it. People are complaining on how bad it is. I want people to actually give me the examples 10 of them on how bad it is. One thing is, we have a merciful comand staff. Do you think any of these fools could last any where else after the stuff they did. example being,,,, i dont know, a list of some of the people doing some of the things worth talking about. getting tazed and arrested. or someone else getting arrested for DUI in the Keys, or someone taking thier cruiser to their girlfriends house and shooting themselves in the hand, or a few individuals giving false statements in an official investigation and on a poloygraph,or someone having "relationships" with tribal members, or getting in multiple car accidents, i know in some county s.o.'s if you had 2 in one year you were fired. sleeping on duty more that 100 times, best one yet, complain about how bad it is and still have job here. I hear all the time on how we are not treated fairly and that we are not allowed to do our job. Someone please give me one person who was fired for doing their job? Just one. The Chief allows us to do our job, he just wants it done right. The person that says we can't go after tribal members does not know how to do their job and is scared because when they will have to take police action they mess it up. The last 3 search warrants executed by SPD have all been on Tribal members houses, did you know that? Go let a prissoner escape, let a sig 5 suspect get away, shoot yourself in the hand, make inappropiate advances on community elders, put your car in a ditch, and get by while your sergeant sits there and lets it happen. Now complain how great you are and how much you hate your job. What a POS.

So many of have left and are happy and making a life for their family. SPD makes a decent salary but the money has affected the way most of you think. Just read some of these post, it's sad. We have no confidence. Many dept's are hiring with good benefits.
