moving

hello all
im south florida, and am thinking of moving to to your area, where all my family lives,(milton)
it would be a huge pay cut, but i hate miami...how are things in your dept? i have 20 years in FRS
and i am looking for a new home(SO) to work in....thanks

Working conditions are not bad at all. Getting hired in the current tax cut climate may be difficult. Look at all the options you may have down there before just moving into this area. If the rumor mill is even close the upcoming budget is not looking good. The SRSO has been at the same budget level the past four years with zero increases and it appears that they will have to cut significantly this year. Do not know how the other county's are doing but it should be about the same. With that being said we still "replace" but don't hire. Good luck.
