OPD take home car policy

Do you guys get take home cars or are they "hot seated?" Are there restrictions re: how far you can live from headquarters? County restrictions? Are you taxed on your personal mileage to and from work? Do you have to reimuburse OPD to have a take hom car.

What is your off-duty detail policy? Are the number of hours you can work each week limited? Does the department pay you or does the detail pay you directly? Does your hourly detail wage differ with rank?

Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

We pay $35/pay period if we live in Orange County. Free if you live in the city. Very few off duty employers pay through the city. Most pay the officer directly. Off Duty rates are the same regardless of rank unless the off duty position is specifically for a supervisor.
