View Full Version : FOP legal Defense Plan

02-15-2009, 04:38 PM
On February 11, a Lee County Deputy appealed a 3 day suspension to the Civil Service Board. Because he was a member of the FOP Legal Defense Plan, he was provided with an Attorney who sucessfully argued his case and won a reversal of the suspension. The following day, another member of the Lee County Sheriff's Office was involved in shooting. This deputy needed an attorney to assist him and protect his rights but could not afford (as many of us cannot) the cost of a private attorney. Had this deputy been a member of the FOP Legal defense Plan, he would have immediately been provided with one at no cost.
As a retired law enforcement officer(32years) I cannot over stress the need for my brothers to obtain membership in an organization that will provide you with representation to protect your rights in internal affairs complaints and an attorney if needed.
The Fraternal Order of Police currently represents over 20,000 law enforcement officers in the State of Florida and over 320,000 law enforcement professionals nationwide. We would consider it an honor to represent you.
If you woould like an application please e-mail at FOPSTATEREP@AOL.COM

We need you now more than ever, sir. Can you bring pamphlets by the station and substations? This stuff is out of control.

Don't forget Collier County. Those guys have NO ONE to help them, except PBA which doesn't appear to help much.

We're still waiting for the FOP to get back to us on those previous questions! Did anyone get the pamphlets from the FOP yet?

Someone from the agency needs to step up and ask the F.O. P. to come in to have the Deputies vote if they want representation. If the union is voted in they won't F#@*k with the person who invited the F.O.P. Bottom line is everything will be a lot fairer than it is now with your promotion process and benefits. You are the ones who will be here for the next twenty years not the administration. This is your department not theirs. Good luck.

The FOP was already contacted, and their answer was get the blue cards done yourself, then contact us.
