BSO investigates fatal hit-run in Wilton Manors

WILTON MANORS - The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit-and-run collision that killed a man over the weekend.

The man was fatally struck by a vehicle between Saturday night and Sunday morning on Wilton Drive, said David Jones, a city police detective.

The man was with two other people, but Jones didn't know whether they were hurt.

The Sheriff's Office said it would provide more details today. A spokeswoman said no one has been arrested in the crash.

The Sheriff's Office investigates traffic homicide cases in the city, Jones said.

Why don't we have the sheriff patroling the town instead of the cops with vacant cars on wilton drive trying to stop traffic. Maybe we can save some tax money withy some real cops instead of department store cut outs trying to slow the mayham down on wilton drive. I own a duplex in lauderdale by the sea and the sheriff has really done a great job and cut our taxes. I frequent the alibi and crime is out of control on the drive. All you see is shattered glass in the Shoppes parking lot due to all the breakins of cars at giorgies or the new gym.

Maybe if we had the county sheriff or constable on patrol our streets would be much safer and you would not have to dodge speeding cars walking from the naked grape to the thai place.
