I had to read about this in the Blade? Why was it not in the Sun Sentinel? What is the city or the police departtment trying to hide? Its evident that they do not protect us or care about us or this story would have been more well known so we can take the necessary precautions. Its time more changes are made. We have some new elected officials. Now we need to get rid of the cities top administrators so we an get this city where it needs to be. Mayor Resnik, Here is your chance to shine. We trust you.

Walking around Wilton Manors after a night of clubbing continues to be risky for gay men.
Wilton Manors police are investigating armed robbery that took place Dec. 6 on the 2200 block of NE 11nd Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Police are looking for a man who attempted to rob 23-year-old Plantation resident Shanon Wasson with a semi-automatic handgun.
Wasson had met the man during a night of partying at Boom Nightclub. According to the incident report, Wasson had been drinking heavily when the men left the club.
Police said the unidentified suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded Wasson hand him his money when the two approached a dimly lit area on the 2200 block of NE 11 Avenue. Wasson lunged for the gun, and the two men began to scuffle in the street until the gun was fired.
The attacker ran away when Wilton Manors Police arrived. After a short chase the man got away.
No one was hurt in the shooting.
Neighbors in the area say they are concerned about the continuing incidents in the neighborhood.
Resident Seth Solomon said he tells guests to drive to the bars instead of parking at his house and walking the three blocks.
“It’s just not safe to walk around late at night anymore,” he said.
