I still enjoy my job, even after the merge. I work inland and marine activity. It is only my opinion, but I believe that the poor leadership throughout the state (Not just speaking of GHQ), will ultimately cause our agency to fail. We are thinking about hats and badges instead of taking care of our people. The hat and badge will not help me with the power bill. It is sad when someone that carries a gun on their side everyday and wears a ballistic vest, has to work off duty just to have enough money to enjoy his / her personal life. We are losing good people and experience to other LE agencies and to the private sector. If the economy wasn't in such bad shape, we would probably be losing many more. Stay safe!
