The post about illegal wildlife trade has brought up a good point. We no longer have enough subject matter experts in the field. Even worse, there are'nt too many Lts left that have ever enforced things like illegal pet trade. Others good examples of that are commercial fisheries, federal fisheries, drug interdiction, and immigrant enforcement. We have come back to some core mission that is slowly but surely going away. Hunting. As a lifelong hunter and fisherman I see this direction as the end of our agency. Hunting is almost gone in Florida.
