Hope it's not true...if so it is Corruption

I heard a few days ago that if Cameron gets elected as Sheriff to this once fine agency your current Sheriff (John Davenport) will not actually retire he will just go on vacation for a day or two. He will then be hired back and or returned back to another position (no one knows just what position as of yet.....maybe a Road Sergeant or something). This was concocted by the two of them (Davenport and Cameron) because as Sheriff when a Sheriff institutes a benefit for his employees by law he cannot benefit from those actual benefits that he has instituted (actual example: health insurance after 25 years of service with the agency!!!!). So now if Cameron hires him back at a lower position he can then retire with the health insurance benefits after whatever amount of time he wants to serve (screw the taxpayers) the agency .

If I am not mistaken Davenport is in the DROP program which means he would have to retire at the end of the time duration he has chosen and cannot be rehired until 31 days later (if he is not in the drop program then I am mistaken about that portion only). In any case for Cameron to do this it would not only be a cheap shot at the taxpayers, it would also be a voter confidence issue, and or since this idea has been concocted by the two of them I think it would border on corruption and maybe....just maybe a violation of law!!!!! The good ole boy system is definitely alive and well within the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.

Some new information on our new direction from the future sheriff and I am no longer going to vote for Cameron, I guess Melo will get my vote with all the family and friends I talk to.

I am really surprised that NightKnight (more like NiteNite....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) hasn't weighed in on this subject. Come on Mikey.....no challenge to this???? Then it must be true, and apparently action like this by your hero and future leader is perfectly alright with you even though it could be a violation of law in many different ways, an election violation for promising a position/job with the agency, and most definitely it would also be a voter confidence issue, and closely bordering on corruption. Fair question......The other old adage is if you hear it once it has to be rumor, if you hear it twice there must be some truth to it.....well I have heard it a total of 6 times by credible employees who still work for the agency and are in positions of knowledge. Hopefully for us it isn't true (or maybe someone else wins the election), Hopefully we will take action if Cameron does get elected and the plan come to fruition. It is not only a slap in the face to the taxpayers but to those of us who weren't offered the same options after giving everything we had to this agency as front line deputies!!!!

JD does hold a LE cert. so what you have suggested is possible, but as guest said, other than hearsay what shread of proof do you have. I just wanted to post information that I was privy to. Y'all make your own decisions based on what you know and feel. I do know now that since this is out, they (your command staff/Cameron & Davenport) have probably figured out how to do this without having to hire/have him (Davenport) back. In any case vote with your heart and MIND on how and which direction you want to see YOUR agency (not theirs) go in. The choice is yours, and I might add there is not much to choose from. I need to make one last comment MW or not(it doesn't matter), just wait the proof will come. And as I said in my last piece, it now may not happen like I have reported but you can bet JD will leave the agency with health benefits (unlike those of us who have left good body parts at this once fine agency working the front lines doing our jobs who now have to fight for what is deserved). WOW! Nightknight the lot lizzard has sure blasted his viewpoint on what he thinks of the correctional officers who work at the jail. Quite an immature position for someone who visited the fine establishment in his younger years.

I would like to think better of member of this agency with regards to their brother officers inside the jail. Perhaps the little Lot Lizzard should spend a few shifts inside the jail and see what it's like to work with just youre command ability and presnce to keep you safe and operations running smooth.

No Gun, No Car to flee, No Vest, just your natural born ability to think and speak to keep your head above the water. This concept must be difficult for you Lot Lizzard.

Why don't you post an apology to all of the correctional officer's who perform a job you could never do. Of course I do figure you for the kind of spineless worm who is ignorant of the dangers inside the jail

Yeah, he couldn't do it anymore (Corrections that is) after his "Daddy" Cpt. Walla left.....he was in tears for days....LOL. Now apparently he has a new "Daddy" but we will see how long that lasts!!!! Please Note: I said I was 10-7, but just couldn't resist especially thinking back on the days of Walla, and M.W......they were soooooooooo cute together.
