taking test soon

I was just wondering if nypd takes into consideration previous law enforcment while going through the hiring process or do they just go based on your test score.
Also, do they have an accelerated academy or field training for former leos?

Im in the same boat here. Im taking a walk in exam in November and I have previous LEO Experience as well as being a former NYPD Officer. They will not consider previous experience when it comes to the test and you would have to do the whole academy all over again. Sorry, that means that if you get in you will be running laps in the gym with all the newbies. I hope this helps.

oops, should have read the question carefully. It is based on your test score, but I think that after all the standardized exams prior experience has a major role in being cosidered for a job.
