Mileage Restrictions

How many areas are on mileage restrictions and limited boat ops? If it is that bad, why is the agency still hiring? Concerned taxpayer...

As I understand it, the fuel money comes from one pot of money. Another pot of money is salary dollars. It seems as simple as one pot for Commissioners to decide where to spend the dollars. However, the legislature holds the power to say how much money is put in what pot and dollars retained are not necessarily ours to spend. So, positions are created or vacated and if money has been authorized to spend then you have positions being filled or advertised. It seems closer to mother may I move money from positions to fuel budget but this is not the way the game is played. Vacant positions pot of money is always the first pot to be drained when cutbacks are discussed. Also, fill the positions or risk losing the position and fighting harder to regain them. At least this is my understanding of it all.
