Application/ PASS?

I am inquiring if It is required to apply to P.A.S.S. or if it is acceptable to apply directly to your agency. I am not interested in working for any other agency besides CPD.

You have to have a PASS file in order to get hired. You can contact Sgt. Felici and let him know that you are intersted in a position, but you still have to have a PASS file.

Im not sure. I would contact Sgt. Felici (727) 562-4302. I don't see why you would need to go through PASS if your only applying to us. I do not like PASS and have heard some horror stories about PASS. If you have experience you should be able to bypass all the hoopla. GOOD LUCK!

PASS is a waste of money and time unless you're certified.

PASS cost $50 6 years ago, I was not certified, I got the job, I can't complain about them....but I could sure use that $50 to cover the gas costs with no take home car, and no more overtime.

At least we have a job, unlike other areas or Departments in our Nation!

I am a well qualified applicant, 10 years service, a degree (Bachelors), never have been disciplined and have a personnel file full of accommodations. I work with a rather large south Florida agency and would love to work back in my home town of Clearwater. However, I refuse to use P.A.S.S. I have had nothing but rude, unprofessional attitudes flying out of that office towards me. I never treat anyone poorly or talk down to people, there is no reason, so why should I put up with that kind of attitude? I simply had a few questions because I am an out of town applicant and became very disgusted. I feel bad for the new Officers that have to deal with this agency. I hope it doesn’t put a bad taste in their career paths. Besides? Why should I have to apply to an agency that entertains 14+ agenys when my objective is to work for a Police Department which I have researched and Ect. Isn't that silly? "We hold you to a high standard but we understand you are so desperate for work we send your application to 14+ agency's, But we expect you to blah blah blah". You should re-think your policy regarding P.A.S.S.

Call Sgt Felici at Clearwater. Thye can have a file made for you at PASS that is exclusive to Clearwater and probably add some grease to the squeaky wheel.
