The Ignoring of criminal activity by disregarding chain of command recommendations and collusion with the SAO to the point where they refuse to prosecute or even address police officer criminal conduct is just another downward step for LPD and the blame falls squarely on the shoulders of the leadership.

Special treatment because you are a certain demographic does not grant you immunity, just because ministers and the NAACP speaks on your behalf it does not mean you are exempt from the same rules, regulations, and laws that everyone else have to obey. How many times did these same ministers and the NAACP come down to speak on the behalf of offices who were injured in the line of duty and cast aside? How many of these same community leaders spoke up when other members of the department were in trouble or even promoted? Turning a felon into a race issue is not only demeaning to the race, it is a blatantly racist tactic and no one, especially the Chief of Police should succomb to race based extortion. Sometimes some situations are not about who you are or what color your skin is, there is just right or wrong.

Understanding there is a lot of embarrassment and ill feelings about the hit that LPD is taking because of the lack of decisiveness and leadership coming from the 3rd floor, besides posting those here, write them down in an email to City Hall and in particular the City Manager here DouglasThomas@lakelandgov.net . Each and every city commissioner has an email address, write them and let them know how you feel.

Have your friends and family send him emails letting them know of your feelings and how the 3rd floor has continued to let the officers down, how morale has slumped to an all time low, how even some citizens are talking about PCSO taking over because their police department isn't what it used to be.

Besides a much needed Union vote of No Confidence, City Hall needs to understand this frustration and what is going on at LPD. A once proud and respected agency has become a shell of its former self, not because of the officers on the street, but because of a lack of leadership and negligent decision making. The "families" need to go.

I am a citizen and I wish someone would fire these two. They are a pox on the good name of the GOOD LPD officers!

If only they weren't black and playing the race card...I guess that's all they have left since common sense and integrity are foreign to them both.

FIRE THE LT. & HIS SGT (oops, ex-Sgt) WIFE!

Pitch Black

Unfortunately, if I am correct, the punishment (or lack thereof) has already been handed down by COP. The only thing we can do now is wait for FDLE's review of the incident and hope THEY do the right thing and revoke their Law Enforcement Standards.

LOOKS LIKE THE WILSONS WILL BE GETTIING THEIR PUNISHMENTS REVERSED. THE CHIEF VIOLATED THE 180 DAY RULE. BY VIRTUE OF HIM DOING THIS, THE SGT WILL GET HER STRIPES BACK AND THE LT WILL GET BACK PAID FOR HIS SUSPENSION.

ITS A SHAME THAT IT HAS COME TO THIS BUT I WONDER IF STAFF INFECTION ONE DID THIS ON PURPOSE. IF HE VIOLATED THIS RULE, WILL HE BE PUNISHED?

HOPEFULLY THE FBI WILL SWOOP IN AND SAVE US ALL BEFORE THE SHIP HITS SHORE. OH THATS RIGHT WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO TALK ABOUT THE FBI'S CORRUPTION INVESTIGATION ON THE CHIEF.

I FEEL SORRY FOR ALL THE ROOKIES WHO WILL HAVE TO BE SUPERVISED BY FLO BECAUSE NO ONE WILL BID TO HER SHIFT.

SINCE WHEN DO WE ARREST(WILSONS 78 FELONIES) BASED ON WHAT THE STATE ATTORNEY TELLS US TO DO. IF THAT WAS THE CASE WE WOULD NEVER ARREST ANYONE.

ITS AMAZING THAT GIVIN THE 78 FELONIES AND LIES, IF THE WILSONS APPLIED AT ANY AGENCY IN THE STATE THEY WOULD NOT GET HIRED, BUT HERE AT LPD THEY ARE ALLOWED TO LEAD.....MAKES ME FEEL GOOD.

What Federal Laws did Staff III break when he served several officers with fitness for duty/seperation of service paperwork while he limps around here with a new description for his possition. I know who will answer this one correct, it should be the Attorney General. But we all can figure out who hits the ball out of the park here. Those two could/should have company! Now as usual its business as usual here in paradise.

The funny thing from the inside is that two affected felons that still actually believe there are other LPD members that support them. While I can't speak for the entire department, majority word is that there is no confidence in the both of them also, to the point that they have been internally black balled by their peers! Regardless of the decision of a weak chief and SAO, the members have formed their own opinions and many have actually read the IA files which are public record for anyone to read. They will increase your stress levels and make you pissed off wondering what the hell happened to our once great agency, like the current economic times, the department is headed for a very serious depression. It is really too bad, hopefully someone (like our City Commissioners) will wake up and see what is happening.

I have looked at the file. I am one who has no confidence in either of these two, and would love to be the one who calls the defense attorney anytime either of these two felons attempt to testify. We had enough problems at LPD, there was no need to disgrace us further by retaining these two.

Why don't you all quit talking about it and do something?
