It seems like you guys and girls have an awesome job. That being said, there is no way that 18 year officers are making less than $40000 a year. I saw on the website that you guys topped out at 79000. How long does it take to get there??? How do you pay raises work if there are no step raises??

If you quit and go to work for the Federal Government, It doesn't take long at all.

You obviously do not work for FL state gov. .... What raises? There has not been a raise for FWC in several years.. They gave a $1000 bonus a few years ago that didn't even go towards your retirement ($673 after taxes). The Florida legislature does not care about its state employees!! FL is also last of all 50 states in state employee pay. There is only sooo long you can stay optimistic about this states legislature.

To answer your question about 18 year plus employees. You will find many are just shy of 40K or just a hair over with that much time on. Pretty sad!

As of ever reaching 79K as an officer, get real.. will never happen in this agency. When Lt.'s pay is 43K and Capt.'s pay is 59K.........sad..but with that said, you can feel bad abou the pay and look silly in your cowboy hat!

Well, put it this way, find an FWC Officer who is making more than 45k? You cannot take in account of officers who were Captains and demoted to officer (only agency where you can get demoted to officer and promote back up in record time instead of being fired!) An officer starting salary is approx. 32K and FWC has no step plan and the legislature could care less about L/E. So, take it for what its worth.

Do you guys get the educational incentives for degrees?

What about the salary incentive classes money?

I think you guys have the most dangerous job, especially for the pay

How does a LT. in your agency make $43K when an new FHP Lt. makes approximately $60K. Doesn't seem fair.
