ORANGE COUNTY - Three Orange County Jail employees have been given written reprimands for mistakes that allowed accidental releases of three inmates earlier this year, officials said Friday.

A probe found that Lynn Vickers failed to notice a discrepancy with one inmate's bond amount, supervisor Terry Curtis failed to thoroughly review an inmate's file for accuracy and Zaida Hawkins entered incorrect information that led to confusion in two cases.

Christopher Eppright was booked Feb. 29 on a kidnapping charge, but that charge was replaced with a charge of sexual activity with a 16- or 17-year-old. His $50,000 bail was set at $250. Eppright returned two days later and posted bail for the higher amount. Aaron George was booked on a prostitution-related charge March 14. He was released the next day, but he should have appeared before a judge on another charge. Sandra Bell was arrested in April on a charge of conspiracy to traffic more than 400 grams of cocaine. Her $250,000 bail was set at $25,000. She was released but returned later that day.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office, doesn't run/have anything to do with the jail. Then Sheriff Lawson Lamar gave it to the County Commission back in, oh I don't know, something like 1988. It's ultimately run by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners.
