Subject: Police to Present Check to Widman Family from “Drop in the Bucket” Campaign
The Cape Coral Police Department, Fort Myers Police Department and Lee County Sheriff’s Office will hold a press conference on Monday, July 28 to present a check from the “Drop in the Bucket” campaign to the family of Officer Andrew Widman. The press conference will be at 10 a.m. at the Fort Myers Police Headquarters.
Police officers from these local departments will be joined at the press conference by officers from other Southwest Florida public safety agencies, along with elected officials from the area. Several law enforcement agencies from across the state of Florida also are expected to have officers in attendance.
The amount raised from the “Drop in the Bucket” effort will not be finalized until Monday morning; however, thanks to the exceptional generosity of residents and businesses throughout the community, this multi-agency effort has exceeded the announced goal of $100,000.
