The Rumor Answer line is much appreciated, but it does not allow for questions and suggestions.

Why can't VCSO have an anonymous suggestions and questions box (possibly in each district)? Or maybe a person on the 4th floor who could receive them interoffice mail? The questions or suggestions could then be put on the employee website with a response from the admin much like the Rumor Answer line…[/u]

This would accomplish several things.
-It would prevent the sending ideas to the Rumor Answer line when they are not really rumors
-Would prevent chain of command violations.
-Would encourage true expression of ideas without concern for retribution.

Just a thought.

That is a good thought indeed. I doubt it would happen though. Makes too much sense. And some have too thin skin.

The volusia deputies association website used to allow for free expression. But then overly sensitive individuals (like the sergeant whose only goal is to do traffic stops and make lieutenant) complained.

I wasn't aware....This a new recently promoted Sgt?

The Volusia deputy association website is not operated by the agency, is it? If not, the what does it matter that some Sgt complained??

It should not matter. When it first came out there was open and free dialogue available. There is not that dialogue available now. From this website there is....but not from the other.

Could just change the Rumor Answer Line to include questions and suggestions.
