Lateral Transfer

I'm looking at making a lateral move. I currently work for Polk County S.O. and am thinking of heading over to OCSO. I have a few good friends I went to the academy with from Valencia that currently work for your agency, and love it. Moral is good where I work, and they say the same about OCSO. What I'm hoping to obtain is better pay. I've been told when the new sheriff is elected, pay will come back to a pretty competative rate $40k range for new guys and more for laterals. And you guys have TONS more off duty work than we do.

What are your opinions of your agency's Moral and Pay? How about your opinions of what the guys running for Sheriff may bring to the agency?
