I thank Charlie has gone MAD! The state can't pay it's employees a living wage but they can shell out over a billion $$$$s for swamp land!!

It has been said on other forums, but it bears repeating here. There are 17 million people in Florida, and the majority of them have no interest in law enforcement. Those that do have an interest are law enforcement personnel, their families and those impacted directly by thugs, thieves and other assorted scum. Now here is the kicker - when John Citizen calls 911 about a racoon in his trash can, who shows up? The local PD or SO. They are the faces of law enforcement and they are the ones that the public cares about. As an investigative agency, most people know nothing of FDLE and what they actually do. The same can be said for other investigative agencies. The public is never going to give a crap about the plight of state law enforcement because..well you get the point. The public cares more about sea birds and swamp land though. We are necessary, but not important. The public assigns the level of importance of law enforcement. The legislators are the voice of the people. No money for raises, compression or competitive salary, but plent of money for swamp. Go figure.
