You think FLPD sucks? Try NYPD!

I been reading this forum for a while now, and i could not help but to voice my opinion. FLPD guys on here are complaining about how bad the job is. Lets compare...

FLPD:

Take home car
No foot post
Better schedule 4 on 3 off
Better PAY!
Overall better geographical area to work
NO TOLLS
Plenty of voluntary O.T.
oh, and better retirement!!!

NYPD:

NO take home car
sometimes, no patrol car at all
patrol vehicles with no computers or other essential equipment needed for patrol
regular foot posts
mandatory O.T.
bad schedule 5 on 2 off
the worst pay in the NYC area
Tolls everywhere you go, no discount for city workers
retirement 50% of base
absolutely worst equipment

I been reading this forum for a while now, and i could not help but to voice my opinion. FLPD guys on here are complaining about how bad the job is. Lets compare...No doubt NYPD has it rough. I don't understand why anyone who wasn't independently wealthy would patrol the biggest city in the world for $25,100. However, others have it better than us here at FLPD, many in this same county. We also have a city administration that refuses to pay us competitively when it's clear that they can easily afford to. We are hemorrhaging officers left and right, so not all is well.

I say this to the officers @ NYPD and every union member everywhere: Do what you can to better your family's welfare, and fight for fair wages, better equipment and fair treatment.
