Appears that you didn't make the cut...Oh well, maybe next time :-)

Promote so you can be responsible for all the duties of a Corporal, Sergeant, and a Lieutenant - all for the low pay of a Sgt. Oh ya, except even FWC Lt.'s are paid lower than an FHP Sgt.! Makes you proud. But look on the bright side, when the new schedules come out you won't have to work past 8PM.

If you promote just to earn a bigger check then you are in it for the wrong reason. If it's $$$ you want then work OT, dual, and get a second job. You could make a fortune! To repeat a familiar theme..."If you applied thinking you were going to get rich then you had no idea what the job was about, and didn't do your homework."

To repeat a familiar theme.... It's not about getting rich, it's about getting pay raises on a yearly basis so you can earn a decent wage!!

But if you are happy making starting pay for your entire career, have fun!!!

To repeat another popular theme. "You are a moron. Not everyone has family money or a well paid spouse. You're theme is exactly why we are in this mess. Look in the mirror. You are to blame. "

Are they going to promote an unqualified person just because they are the only person that applied for the position? Will they use the assessment center to stop the only applicant from promoting toa position they have proven they should not be in?

You betcha! They will not leave Lt. positions vacant.

Soooo...what do you all do when you find yourself in a bad relationship with a spouse that neglects you, dosn't listen to anything you say, could care less if you are happy or not? Do you stay in the relationship and be miserable for the rest of your life.

You are the creator of your own destiny. You have power over your life. You make the choices. Moaning and groaning gets you no where. "Life's too short to be miserable..."

Exactly, promote for a pay raise!

And, no more overtime - just straight time.

If a potential candidate/supervisor cannot handle that simple scenario for the assessment process they shouldn't be promoted.

You will now see two to three year supervisors (Lt.'s) being promoted out in the field from now on. The tide is changing...
