How is the weather up there? Been thinking about putting in an aplication... Any comments about the department?

Weather has been a little chilly so far this year. Most years we are in the upper 60's to low 70's. I just posted a link to recruiting at APD. There is lots of good information there.

I think Anchorage is a great place to rasie a family if you like the outdoors. There is camping, fishing, ATVing, hiking, photography in the summer. In the winter you can ski, snowshoe, hike and snowmachine. If you don't like the outdoors, this is not the place for you. The winters can be long if you don't enjoy them.
