Generally speaking there is a 30 mile limit, but you can live any distance away in Broward County. The city manager has let people who live in the 35 mile range also take them home. We have some that live 45+ miles and they get to park them at a Palm Beach sub station about 35 mile from here. In other words it's flexible. Depending on how far away you live, you reimburse the city $20, $40, or $60(free if you live in the city) that is still cheaper than what it would cost you out of your own pocket. You can use it for any official job related activity, court, in- service schools, college. Your Major can approve other things too like stopping at the doctor on the way to work or home.

Is that 30/35 mile limit from the station or the city limits?

Is that 30/35 mile limit from the station or the city limits? We in the PD say it's the city limits and it hasn't been challenged by city hall.

Actually the only one at city hall who thought it should be from HQ was the evil little man who worked in Personnel but he is long gone. The manager has been very accomodating to those a little further outside the boundaries.
