PROCESS OF APPLICATION

i applied for this department in feb. of this year(yes i am aware it is not the greatest dept. i have read and heard plenty)my concern is that i havent been called for the first step which i believe is the swim test.the reason why i ask is because my friend turned his application i believe in december or january and did the swim test right away and did the psychological but after that he hasnt been scheduled for anything else and he knows that he passed his psych because he called about 3 weeks after and found out he had passed it.they told him now he needed to wait for the next step and he is still waiting.i am still waiting just to get started anyone know anything of what is going on with the hiring process?
i am aware that you have a new chief could this be the cause of the delay?
i know of someone that also applied late last year was hired within i believe 2 months.

Dont know what to tell you, I have no knowledge of what the hold up is other than they are working on your file. Best I can tell you would be to speak to someone in backgrounds.
