View Full Version : AG bans DOT from AG stations

04-14-2008, 09:46 PM
A memo came out banning other agencies (mainly FDOT/MCCO) from working with or on their interdiction stations. Apparantly a DOT officer was doing "real" police work and needed assistance from our brothers in green and the talking heads didn't like it. Another example of why we can't get anywhere with the legislators, our agency heads will not stick together and when we try to work with other agencies, we get it in the rear. We at MCCO are with our brothers in AGLAW and if you guys need help, we are just down the road, we are ready, willing and equipped to help you guys out anytime. To make the talking heads happy, we will try to keep our distance from the interdiction stations, not willingly, however.

that is total bull$hit, produce the memo before you make that crap up. ag/law has always been there for dot and our brothers and sisters in blue. besides, when does dot do real police work?.

04-15-2008, 12:48 AM
We at AGLAW don't need this SORRY agency bashing!! We work just fine with DOT. Some of you really need to hit the road because you are the true thorn in our agencies side. MOD486 if you can delete the negative comments that are posted by jaxdotcop. We both know this is not a legit person anyway!!

04-15-2008, 05:22 PM
I don't think jaxdotcop was trying to be completely insulting, aside from the "real" police work comment.

And I know for a fact some of the higher ups at ag have been telling DOT to stay off our inspection stations, which I think is wrong.

I want to know where the memo came from? Which agency sent out this memo? I for one have not seen any memo of this nature at my station. jaxdotcop can you provide me with a copy of this memo?
As far as the real police work comment I (right now) don't take this as an insult, however if it gets to that point I will delete the post. We have always maintained a professional board and I am pround of our officers for maintaning their integrity on this site. Please keep up the good work.

Now as far as the DOT working on our ramp. I for one back in the end of 2006 saw a DOT officer come onto our ramp and tried to enforce the DOT regulations. This was interfering wih our job and the the Officer was asked to stop. The officer left and never came back. Other than this incident we always have a great working relationship with DOT in our area. We back them up and they back us up.

Both our agencies have regulatory authority which is by far above and beyond most other law enforcement agencies, but sometimes in the performance our duties "real police work" rears its ugly head-like having to fight a driver over whatever reason. That's what I was referring too, so don't get your panties in a wad! All DOT officers enjoy working with our Oscar brothers and sisters, mainly because oscars and deltas are constanly put down by some 'other ' agencies, we don't get the publicity of the 'high profile' police agengies, matter of fact, nothing on our uniforms identify us as law enforcement or police, so try living with that, even Wackenhut's badges say "officer" just like ours.
Back to the subject at hand, however, it seems the oscars on the ground are constantly being held back from being pro-active by your superiors, this really hurts your agency, and yes, a memo was produced by an Oscar unit that told our guys to hit the road, and a memo from DOT came out telling us we have to get prior permission from the big Oscar in the sky before going to an interdiction station, so my facts are true, if you are not aware of it, you will be when you go to work tomorrow. It just gets on my nerves that when an Oscar calls for help with something, we come running and I guess no one appreciates that, up top I mean. The next thing I see coming is a memo telling the AG to stay out of the DOT scales, let's see what happens then. It's things like this that just makes our agencies look unproffessional, not the people on the street trying to enforce the laws the best we can.

04-16-2008, 03:34 AM
The memo from the BIG OSCAR'S was sent via fax to each Ag Station on
4/14/08 advising that ALL LE personnel needed to get written prior approval before coming on Ag property. THIS IS FACT NOT FICTION!
NOW LET ME GIVE YOU A HISTORY LESSON!
Over the years the Ag Dept. and DOT have had a good working relationship in Northeast Fla. There have been 5 Ag Officers that left
to go to work for JAX DOT and have served DOT well over the years.
We have always welcomed Ag Officers into our dept. There have been 0 DOT Officers that have left to go to Ag. As for the BIG CHICKEN COOP on 95 north (we gave it to you instead of demolishing it.) Not until recently has this war started between the BabyOscars and the Deltas. As for me, I will continue to support the OSCARS, especially the OLD ones who know the history of our working relationship. ATTENTION! ALL YOU BABY OSCARS, MAYBE YOU WILL GET A HOT LOAD OF PACIFIERS THIS WEEK.
One last thought! Keep your Baby Oscars out of our weigh station ponds!

04-17-2008, 01:26 AM
No more back up by dot?, call another oscar when a truck driver tells you to go f**** off when you ask for his log book/driver license/shipping papers... Looks like somebodys going to have to leave the shack. And no more fun in the dot ponds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

04-17-2008, 01:31 AM
Oscars ONLY monitor channel 3, they care less what everybody else is up to, everybody else monitors 1,2 and 3, maybe we all switch to 1 and 2, hate to bother a wet oscar having a heart to heart with Mr. Truckdriver over a tomato.

04-17-2008, 01:35 AM
Are you insane? Always begin a sentence with a capital letter. As to whom does real police work, ask a truck driver. Go ahead, don't be afraid, not all of them bite.

04-17-2008, 03:53 AM
Still unable to loccate that memo. Even asked my LT and he had not heard of anything. Seems like someone is stirring up the waters in our little AG pond.

04-17-2008, 03:56 PM
This gripping is crapp! Why not ask the ag and dot guys what actullay happened to bring this on. It was only the to of them on the ramp when it occured. The problem is that when crapphappens, you must both tell atleast close to the same story as possible. Its no ones fault but these two. No one else was involved. And the captain on 95 is who interveiwed the folks and drew a tallahassee conclusion. It dosen't matter though, fewd on.

04-18-2008, 01:01 AM
There is no such memo, if it is DOT that stated this, they are sadly mistaken and passing a lie around. Just shut up man, you are making a fool of yourself. Stay classy San Diego!

04-18-2008, 05:13 AM
There is in fact a memo. Sent from the 95 captain to all his supervisors. Which is to be itirrated to all on the ramps. Its no ghost.

04-18-2008, 12:57 PM
That did NOT come from headquarters, what does the Major Bryan say?

04-19-2008, 11:46 AM
...All DOT officers enjoy working with our Oscar brothers and sisters, mainly because oscars and deltas are constanly put down by some 'other ' agencies, we don't get the publicity of the 'high profile' police agengies, matter of fact, nothing on our uniforms identify us as law enforcement or police, so try living with that, even Wackenhut's badges say "officer" just like ours.

Actually, our badges and the patch on our sleeve say law enforcement

04-20-2008, 03:27 PM
To both agencies, we all need each other, make sure you are stating fact when you make these accusations. It is very easy to verify, we support all SLEO's in this difficult time, don't make it easy for Tallahassee to screw it up in the legislature.

04-24-2008, 09:58 AM
Both DOT & Ag are granted regulatory authority to do their jobs, but since our core missions are so different that is why we have separate ramps. I understand why DOT would want to come to our ramps since our authority requires trucks to actually stop, but by coming to our ramps and trying to enforce DOT's authority will only jeopardize our regulatory authority. Its not that we don't all want to work together and back each other up because we are all "Real" law enforcement and all trying to stop crimes, but we need to stay focused on our own missions on our own ramps. The only time that we can prove if one agency is better than the other is by how we conduct ourselves on this board and how we treat each other while all working towards the same goal.

04-24-2008, 01:15 PM
Well said Darylict, we must not turn this board into a slugfest against each other. Get on with our work.....God Bless

I agree with MCCO/4ever. I don't want to see our board become juvenile like the other boards on this website. By saying juvenile I mean my agency is better than yours mentallity. Thank you to all who post here who continues to maintain your professionalism. I appreciate it.

We have always done what needs to be done inspite of what those incharge sit in their office and dream up. Like all things coming from the Captians give it a couple of weeks and it will blow over and be forgotten about.

I work side stations on relief so I get to meet all the DOT Officers in our area, great folks. I will even help them weigh a truck on the portable scales if the traffic is slow. You can bet if the brass knew they would hit the ceiling. OOPS guess I just told them, oh well they will get over it.

The only reason DOT has a seperate facility is do to federal funding to put in the motion scales. If not for that they would still be on the ramps with us.

06-29-2008, 12:59 PM
GUYS THIS IS RIDICULOUS!! EVERY AGENCY SHOULD BE WELCOME TO COME TO YOUR" INTERDICTION STATIONS" IF THEY WANT. PERSONALLY I THINK ALL OF US AND I MEAN DOT, FHP, AND AG SHOULD BE WRITING SAFETY VIOLATIONS ON CMV'S AT YOUR STATIONS. IF YOUR CAPT. DID WRITE THIS MEMO HE IS GROSSLY MISINFORMED AND MAKES HIMSELF TO LOOK VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO WONDER YOUR AGENCY CONTINUES TO LOSE PEOPLE TO OTHER AGENCIES!!!!!

Hey, he was the best AG officer I-95 ever had, just ask him :)

07-06-2008, 06:32 AM
Not the 3 eyed monster!

07-06-2008, 11:01 AM
Hey Investicrator - I do know him, he used to hunt for DNA on every contact he had, was responding to the report of a " stolen truck " yeah right problem was he could not drive for crap and could not get stopped and ran off in the retention pond. Nobody liked working with the guy, he would sit in the ramp awhile then climb into a car and disappear. As far as " manning up " I got news for ya, I have told him to his face that he was a loser...........................but maybe I should have said it in Japanese so that he would understand....................

07-07-2008, 02:07 AM
Maybe you didn't look into his 3rd eye on his forehead. His other eyes are just props.

07-07-2008, 06:50 AM

Another thread degrading a fellow officer, makes me sick. I geuss no one else has ever made a mistake in your life. The main thing is the accident happened and the officer was not injured, thank GOD. So he promoted to investigations, great! and if he wants to go further I hope he makes it. I'm not perfect and have made mistakes which didn't effect anyone but me also. But I still can;t see why anyone would come here and bash an officer. I've spoken to him and he;s doning good in the new position. More power to ya brother.

07-10-2008, 05:08 AM
YOU HAVEN'T CALLED ANYONE A LOSER TO THEIR FACE. YOU ARE JUST WHINING BECAUSE YOU ARE STILL USING "WHAT U GOT" SO STOP HATING ON SOMEONE THAT GOT PROMOTED AND YOU ARE STILL CHECKING TOMATOES. AND THE REASON I AM WRITING IN CAPS IS THAT YOU WILL THINK IT'S A BILL OF LADEN AND WOULD ACTUALLY READ IT YOU GUTLESS RAMP PIMP.

07-11-2008, 10:13 AM
Hey dot head , u need to lighten up some before you blow a gasket or something, go back to listening to your tunes and searching for DNA.

Hi-Hi...............

07-11-2008, 10:14 AM
Damnnnnnnn guess ya can't just get along both of you must be losers.

The only PIMP'ing I done was when you used to leave your radio in the shack at the end of shift I would " pimp " it out to whoever wanted to listen to some tunes, and I don't mean that sheet you used to listen to either, you PT cruiser driving, dot of the forehead, DNA searching, no mind............lol :)

Dear MOD,

What has happened to this sight?, it has become almost pornographic in its bashing of each other and sister agencies. I thought we could discuss real issues also meaning factual with some element of truth. We know the brass read it because they make fun of it. Please try and do a better job of policing this sight so innocent people are not slandered and the agency becomes like some of the others that just trash each other. I asked the Lt. Colonel if he would be willing to make a statement on this sight like Col. Jones did and he said that he saw no purpose in it. The other brass wont comment either because of the vicious attacks made on each other. The LC said if I or others wanted to know something to just ask him and he would try to answer it if he could. Yes I work in the puzzle palace but he seems like a good person and has always been straight as far as I can tell. The rest of the people up here work pretty hard too. The new Major is a great guy too.

08-23-2008, 08:49 PM
Hey Hamlet or Hambone or whatever, let me help you out with some grammar here........

When you are writing about this location please refer to it as a " site " not " sight ", as in website or location on the web.

When you are writing about your vision or ability to not be able to see the forrest for the tree's you can use the word " sight " , as in you eyesight is clouded by the fog of misunderstanding that you bring to your daily work place.

Hopefully this will help you out with your mission to get the administration to come on here and make comments, bahahahaah

We are the GUARD the ROAD GUARD

Hamlet,

This site started out very professional. The officers would discuss things they liked and disliked and maintained for the most part a professional image. However, now all you read about is my job is better than yours. Unfortunately we have some folks who don't care or know how to be professional. If I blocked everything said I would have to block the whole site. I do block some things which are just plain stupid. But can't block everything. Hopefully one day the officers at AGLAW will go back to being the professional officer I know they are. I know not all the comments on here are from AGLAW officers, but from the outside who have nothing better to do than bash and make fun of our agency.
As far as the brass making a comment they won't have anything to do with this site besides read the posts.
