I will be relocating to the Jacksonville area in late summer and was wondering what the average first year officer receives in pay with overtime opportunities. It seems like the starting pay is a bit low for a department that requires a Bachelor Degree. Is JSO still on a 5 on 5 off schedule. What kind of overtime opportunities are available for deputies? Mainly off duty work, or does JSO have overtime opps for deputies. Also what is the annual vacation/sick time look like? Thanks for any info.
