If you are really short and under 100 lbs you will surely get hired.

On a serious note:

FTO is divided into 3 phases.

phase 1 - collect underpants

phase 2 - ?

phase 3 - profit

The FTO program is structured like most other departments.. It's approximately three months, divided into three phases of training with three different FTOs. There is one additional "evaluation" week at the end where a plain clothes FTO rides along with the trainee to make sure he/she is capable of working on his/her own.

The hiring process is also just like everywhere else, too. Oral Board, Background check, Voice Stress/Polygraph, Psych, Chief's interview, Physical. The process is not perfect (as we all know some real winners make it past) but it is what it is.... If you have questions, go to the PD website and contact the Background investigator and ask.... He's a good guy and will help you if he can...
