I agree.

I think it is time we all band together and form an FOP chapter at SPD.

We can utilize the FOP for collective bargaining. Their experienced pension and benefits experts can get us what we need to keep up with industry standards.

The FOP will also provide you representation in disciplinary proceedings ensuring that you are afforded due process consistent with the Police Officers’ Bill of Rights.

You also get a small life insurance policy and other perks for being a member.

Morale is low and something needs to be done. The survey is a joke and waste of time.

Complete waste of time and money.. Trust me they are not the way to go. We had them for years. They collect your money, give a BBQ once a year and their "attorney" are horrible, I have seen one of the guys I work with use them first hands three years ago... Horrible.

As well we do not have collective bargaining like any other agency. We work for a corporation folks, get that in your heads. Our rules are different than EVERYONE elses. It amazes me that you guys come to work here and dont do your homework and think a uninon will fix things... Make s me chuckle...
