View Full Version : 56 Dog

01-12-2008, 04:58 PM
I heard rumors that the department is currently training a 56 dog to assign to the strike team since the arrest numbers have been so high. The dog is supposed to specialize in targeting NATURAL ICE. Can anyone shed some light on this?

01-12-2008, 06:17 PM
I heard it was going to be a S/51 dog, not a s-56 dog. Rumor has it the dog can smell someone trespassing from over a mile away. It doesn't even get distracted by the loud, shrieking cries of a violent domestic in progress or another officer screaming for help, it just takes the officer right to the 51 violater.

I heard that it can also bite for "57 activity" and "Signal 13" 10-31's. Beware citizens just out "walking around," your days are numbered.

That's good to hear however what is K9-109's dog going to do now. Oh wait I guess is dog is on vacay cause he's always on the special operations strike force without the dog.

Good use of that 57 dog.

Strike Team member: "But we ARE helping by being 10-6 for calls and locking up the world." Hmm, maybe they're still not quite 26 yet. Ah, rookies. Still being used by brass to show that we still have enough manpower to make arrests. When will they learn? They are but pawns in the game.

I hope being #1 in arrests in the dept keeps you warm at night, cause your 94s remember, Blue Falcon.

Let me speak out for the rookies (not off probation) in ref to the strike teams. As being stuck on one many times of my shift I do not agree with it. I also cannot speak out and tell my Sgt. I rather not work the A/P for whatever reason for fear of creating issues while still on probation.

Were expected to perform, I agree with working safe completely but I feel like my balls on the bansaw. I cannot speak out for other rookies who only work the A/P and think the penis is 3-4 inches bigger cause they are always on the A/P and they've only been a cop a whole 3-4 months longer than me, and feel that there better than everyone else.

I agree the arrests are garbage

Please stop kicking back my FT's and asking why they are 13...

1600,
Since you probably know most of these "Strike Team" guys, can you please pass on a message. There are ways you can stay busy your entire shift and still not produce crap numbers for the brass. If you feel you have no choice but to arrest people for drinking, why don't you guys find the nastiest crackhead who you know is gonna have to be medically cleared and arrest him. Make sure you are very thorough while writing your reports...document everything. Take the transport van out and call for additional units, (for your safety of course) and load up every bum sucking on suds you can find. The point is, don't RUSH to get back out there cause some jackass captain is puting pressure on you. Your safety should be your number one concern. The bums are unpredictable and you just might need additional units to help you out on that arrest. Don't do things on your own and put your life in danger because we are short handed. And I hope you are putting all that alcohol and containers into evidence, and anything else that might help the case.
ALSO...DON"T DOWNGRADE CRIMES!! A 41 is a 41, no matter what. Remember what happend to BSO. You will never get into trouble for taking the victim at their word.
Remember....STAY SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See...that makes sense: replying with a constructive response, instead of being an ornery old asshole with nothing else to do that slam a new guy for making, what I read to be, a cry for help and suggestions from the senior leadership.

Couldn't agree with you more, Art. S-14 reports are one more example of putting ourselves on the line for the brass. Maybe these probies will listen to peer pressure, cause they're sure not listening to the rest of us.

Ok how do I make a s41 stay a s41 when there is no victim willing to prosectue ? The min I turn in the report, we all know it'll get kick back by the sgt.

Hey, you. See that box? Don't think in there.
(What am I thinking? You don't even know verb tenses. I'm sure if you ask a senior guy, he can explain it monosyllabically. That means "in small words.")

If you don't know what I mean by not downgrading, get with a rep or senior officer.

Check your email. You should've received a general order this week in which you're (finally) told to follow the FBI's UCR guidelines, via an updated policy. Signal-14 headers are now only for people who are clearly lying.

Why are we home on a friday night on the computer and not out drinking our sorrows away? Man were lame!
I think on Sunday, Shift Change, alot is going to change in Dis. 2/ Shft 3 with some senior Officers coming to the shift to hold court and set the new guys strait on how to "Work Safely". Cant wait for that war of words to start! Going to sit back and enjoy.

 I know who you are now  . :!:

I only got one question for buddy, why are you so two faced ??? I thought you were a friend, and a go to kind of co-worker but now I see. You know, I often seek your help and advice from time to time. But now I see your true colors.
I'm not going to sit here and call you out, but do me one last favor, when you see me in the hallways just keep it moving. You don't have to worry about me anymore, I won't stab you in your back, and smile in your face, and pretend I understand the "big picture" as you so kindly explained it to me hint hint.

*note you don't have to make a call to the D/B for figure out who I am. I don't hide behind a computer screen bashing my co-workers. Take care and watch you 6

Listen Sport you really need to calm down and stop being so offended by what is written here. A while back you said you were done with this site as it was a cancer. Most of us agree it is a cancer and has lost its purpose and usefulness. That being said I have concerns that you will take offense this easy out on the street and will lose your mind in short order every time some puke calls you out or some taxpayer demands his moneys worth. As a more seasoned vet I have to tell you for your own good that you will be subject to insults and disrespect your whole career so you better learn how to control your temper tantrums. Now be a team player and do what the union says to do since they have been at this longer than you. Stop making excuses for your behavior and most importantly grow up.

WTF does all this mean? Am I so out of the loop, or is it unclear to everyone who called out whom? Seriously, who cares?

It's 2008, you should know: Don't ever say, write, photograph, etc anything you don't want everyone to hear/see someday. Even if you think it's anonymous. I'm sure a good number of people know who I am, and if it weren't for the amusement of making up stupid handles, I'd stand by everything I've said on here.

Oh, and you have Friday nights off because you just got off FTO. Hope you enjoyed that last one -- you probably won't see a Friday off for 2 years.

But yeah... Why take things so seriously? This isn't high school, no matter how much drama there is. You'll look back on this & be embarassed (I hope).

Flash, I think your thinkin' of the wrong guy brother. Try again. I've explained no "Big Picture" to anyone nor do I care to waste the breath. Employee's at FLPD are going to do whatever they please no matter what is said. The old days (15 years ago) are long gone!

:x :x :( :( :) :) You're right, what was I thinking ? I guess my fingers just got so darn itchy. "Dammit Gretsas, fu**ing pay us"

Oh and I'm 26 on what the union wants, and expects from me. I think I'm one of the few generation "Y" me Officer, that has been to more FOP meeting, and rallies than most of my peers. I'm always talking to a vetern officer when I see one. I don't waste my time on some sorry a** rookie with less than or a few months or even a year on me, because in most cases they're in the dark like me, but think they are in the know.

Like always stay safe 8)
