Cpl Kelly, next time dont use your head to defuse a situation, use your firearm when you see a beer bottle coming towards your head...Maybe this will make the Chief and D.C. start having some inservice training!!!!

This is to the previous poster that hopefully is not an Officer. Sometimes in this line of work you have to act quickly and instinctively which is appearantly what Kelly did. When you enter this profession its with the understanding you are subject to disrespect, assaults and the ultimate sacrifice. Kelly chose not to standby and watch some one get sliced open that was obviously the attempt from the suspect. Kelly, great job on honoring your commitment to protect and go in head first when you feel you need too. This incident is a great example of why a taser would be beneficial to P.P.D. , bring it to the admins attention, you have a great Chief who would do what he could for you guys to keep you safe.
