What happend to CID, it's been horrible lately...Morale is at an all time low, piss poor management there and nothing better then micro-management that gets morale pumping.....way to go JB......CID use to be a place that people wanted...so much for that...what a match

Maybe if there was a standardized interview and selection process to begin with, there would be a better structure in place (not choosing from a pool of applicants which creates animosity).

Another interesting fact that brings CID down is transferring people out when they get promoted or moving people around too much. That unit has lost so much specialized expertise in the last 10 years. TOO MUCH MOVEMENT.

How many doctors or lawyers do you know that change their specialization as much as cops do.

WE WILL NEVER BE A TRUE PROFESSION UNTIL WE STOP MOVING AROUND AND GAIN A SPECIFIC LEVEL OF EXPERTISE IN A SPECIFIED TYPE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT.

That is the root problem with CID or any other unit. If you enjoyed your specialization, an occasional bump in the road with a bad supervisor wouldn't matter.

Just my thoughts. Trying to be constructive.

It is called " Hybred-Management " and it started with the DD days where no-one was left anywhere long enough to really learn the position, be loyal to fellow employees, or give a darn about where they were working.
Most of all, by staying somewhere so short you never learned how to master the position and pass on that knowledge, yet alone " Be acountable".

When CID was under Press it started to phase out the senior detectives, d not to insult the newer detective ,but they never had the luxury of learning or having a mentor to teach them the skills it takes years to develop.

To be a Major or a Captain in the past took at least 20 years, now look how some shoot thru the ranks and are not mature or knowledgable enough to be in that rank. In the past few years look how many talented people have left because they have had enought of the B/S.

Stay safe & happy holidays.

DD and Ch P started this spiral dive in CID when they were more concern about how Dets looked rather than focusing on their experience and ability. Currently there is no experience in the Homicide Unit, All new detectives, not their fault. Would any of you get on an airliner if the pilots had the lack of training and the equivalent experience of our CID detectives, I think not! Chief, you have inherited a unit that is the equivalent of an airline flying in the Congo. Chief, you need to bring this unit up to US standards.
