A 16-year-old boy was Tasered three times while allegedly resisting arrest Wednesday evening after being involved in a car wreck.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's report:

Deputy Kevin Estrada was off duty around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday when he stopped at a wreck near Veterans and Theresa boulevards in Port Charlotte. One of the drivers involved, a 16-year-old male, was trying to leave the scene.

Deputy Kevin Estrada's attention to detail and recall helped recover a stolen vehicle Thursday evening.

Estrada recalled a bulletin from the previous weekend regarding a stolen blue Honda two-door with Ohio plates, when he saw a similar vehicle traveling on Gallaway, headed toward U.S. 41 shortly after 10 p.m., reports stated.

According to reports: the deputy stopped the vehicle and ordered Thomas H. Pusey, 25, address unknown, and a female passenger to get out of the car....

Lee County cops didn't have to go looking for shooting suspect Jose Luis Lopez Thursday afternoon. He was already in custody here.

Early Wednesday morning, Charlotte County Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Estrada pulled over Lopez for having a tail light out while heading north on Interstate 75. He arrested Lopez on charges of driving without a license.
