Early this morning approximately 2am, Two deputies lost there life tragically in a pursuit of stolen auto in Pahokee-FL or Western Palm Beach County. Happened following departmental procedure to the tee during a split minute decision made by two seasoned deputies deploying stopsticks. Suspects tires did deflate and pursuing deputies in cane fields with no street lighting didn't see them trying to remove the sticks so they could continue the pursuit and struck and killed both of them. Our K9 with a trainee in the car and canine sustained injuries. The K9 deputy has a broken arm from the roll over into a canal where his cruiser amazingly landed upright. The canine and trainee seem to be doing fine with minor injuries.
Two suspects fled into the cane fields onfoot where a massive search yielded one in custody and another as a fugitive.
