I watched every UTD steward spreak at the board meeting. Where is our representation? Where is the FOP? These board members need to see what school police do on a daily basis. Someone needs to educate the board on the amount of weapons and drugs that are proactively removed from these schools (i.e. public record/pictures of property room). Do not rely on the command staff to inform the board because it will never happen. If teachers knew the truth they would be bargaining for hazard pay! Where are the stats? Where is the representation? We need a voice! As for the board member making the comment about overtime-I wish I didn't have to do as much as I do. I wish I could go home at the end of the day, but we are short staffed and under payed.
