With junior officers making 42k starting why are Captains working details?

Will someone please explain that to me?

Aren't the majority of details to be worked in marked units as well in full duty uniform (gun belt, etc) not just a belt with a gun.

I hate you!

They apparently live beyond their means or it's like a job interview. By job interview you only have to look at the hospital. Honestly you should not complain about that because their grocery bills are probably high to sustain their tonnage.

It's not their fault. They have very high stress, sedentary positions.

Why wouldn't they work details. Who is going to tell them they can't do whatever they want? A sgt. Isn't going to. Another captain isn't going to and the majors aren't around.

They work details because they are not entitled to the 300 hours of OT to their pension like the rest of us are. Senior sgts will make more in pension than most capts.
