New Cpt Hired by Chief.......Cpt Is former reserve officer and has 4 years prior L.E. with the department...

What a slap in the face! They also turned down a cop from Orlando with more exp. and better training. I know or have talked with most of the cops in Z-hills. This just goes to show that all the bad things said about the leadership in the Z-hills PD is true!

I really feel for the things that most cops have to put up with, but I have to say that most of the time it is the political B.S. and EGOS that ruin good cops and make them leave the department or even the job altogether.

Dont count your chickens before they hatch... this new capt did the worst on the written test out of all of the applicants, also the inconsistencies on his application maybe his and chefy's down fall! Dont worry Clem is on the move and will make sure we get this matter checked out. Quick question if you lie on an application doesnt FLDE look into that???? Oh nevermind Clem will figure it out he always does!!

Is this true? You mean they went to all the expense of conducting a statewide search, giving a promotional exam and then by-pass more experienced candidates for someone with limited experience? Makes ya kind of wonder why doesn't it.

The same way you lost a good Police Chief (Freeman). He came from Hialeah to your department and had excellent people skills and a tremendous amount of knowledge in the investigative area. You all don't know it but you lost a great Chief. I worked with him in Hialeah for a while and he knew his stuff and could have eventually helped you guys out if he would have been given the opportunity. It seems your department is really really political..

Now on Fong, if that is the reason he was fired somebody should look into this, yes if it looks, walks and quacks like a duck yadda yadda yadda... you all know it wasnt because he only listened to george michael. My point is ol'chefy said he didnt believe the accusations about him so why was he fired, was he fired for being pretty in pink? Check with FDLE and I bet you'll see that their reasons for being fired are not on the entries to FDLE... chefy covering things up AGAIN! I did check on that and the reason given to FDLE was failed to complete probation said nothing about him being under investigation at the time of termination..........
Matter of fact: the investigation on the officer offering juveniles alcohol to hang out with him wasnt completed either..... some body got some spla'nnin to do hhmmm chefy......

I have heard that the "Chief" can put what ever he wants in your file with FDLE.If you don't call FDLE and find out what was put in your file, you my wonder why all those departments never call you back.I can relate! I left a department under less than good conditions and a nice line was added to my FDLE file and I will never get a job in L.E. again! It really doesn't take much for your career to be ruined!

I asked how to get the remarks removed from my file and FDLE said the deparment that you worked for has to request them to be removed. What a joke! Prove nothing in I.A. and still leave crap in your file so you never get a job anywhere! What a system..... Be very careful when you leave, you might make the "Chief" angry and he might leave a little comment for you to remember him by.

Its sad to see the town I grew up in have such a good ol boy attitude when it comes to hiring good experienced officers. I will not get into the politics of the situation but ZPD missed an opportunity to hire a highly trained and experienced officer.

THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN INVESTIGATION ON BOTH ISSUES BUT THE CHIEF AND HIS SON DECIDED NOT TO GET INVOLVED. FDLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED BUT THEN THE CHIEF DOES NOT LIKE TO CONTACT THEM BECAUSE A PATTERN WOULD BE SHOWN THAT HIS AGENCY IS OUT OF CONTROL. :wink:

No not that I know of BUT...... there was one who used to brag to the teeange girls and explorers how big his member is..... he got fired for that twice first from the school board and then for doing the same thing at ZPD. You would think ol' chefy shouldnt have hired him after other officers told him it wouldnt be a good idea but go figure he did it anyway!

Can anyone tell me if Larry Davidson is still working for ZPD? He and I worked patrol for ZPD back in 1986. Did he retire?
