when is this lunacy going to stop

I cannot believe the way this city promotes people. A lot of the people they have been promoting is an embarassment to the department. (not all) When these morons screw up the brass covers for them. The latest incident of " da hood gone wild" is yet another example. The cop wants to be in the video probably thinking he will become famous gets in on the act using his cruiser for these guys------the next day the news is that very same person the sergeant was in the video with is arrested for murder. GO FIGURE :roll: :roll: :roll:

It is time for a change. Just one of many embarrassing incidents with little or no consequences. Yet some smaller incidents can result in harsh punishment--depending who you are of course.

Larger problems are brewing. Time for more officers on the street! The most violent area of the city gets ignored in favor of the statistical break down of calls for service. Expanding the area officers must cover in the most violent area, and covering it with the same number of officers? Calls for service are job one, but what happened to pro-active police work? Giving these officers more calls for service is only going to allow these criminals more opportunity to continue their activities. Nobody will deny that the other side of town was busy. So fix the problem, don't move the problem. Get more officers on the street! Moving the boundary is like plugging a leaking dam with a piece of gum--a disaster.

Sounds reasonable, but BUDGET you know!!

Hmm. There seems to be enough budget for a TV show and a Sgt. to run it. Seems to be enough for a Sgt. to supervise civilian employees who wander around in vehicles newer than patrol vehicles. Crime prevention officers, illegal alien outreach officer and so on. Sounds like the money is here, just not properly spent.
