From what I understand the poor guy got screwed. He was involved in an altercation which resulted in a broken finger which basically rendered him unfit for duty. CPD pushed him out the door, when in the past CPD has made countless exceptions for light duty status. Just look upstairs in our DB. At any given time there are 4-5 people on light duty for various reasons. Granted he was not the most active officer, but he worked the street for many years and got a raw deal.

If I am incorrect, or someone knows the details of the case speak up.

That is not necessarily all the city. State statute allows for a disability pension.

any idea where/when the hearing is? Or who we call? Attendance would be a goosd show of support, and see how we are dealt with in such situations?

Contrary to what some say, the disability pension NEVER makes you whole, and is never enuf to pay all the bills, you dont get lazy and comfortable

I guess the finger couldnt heal? Too bad he couldnt of got a Gig in the comm ctr like another officer up there with an injury sustained on VACATION.....and milking the OT up there to boot.

Ferro should have said he injured it off duty..then he might be in the comm ctr and getting full pay and working 25 hours per week OT.

has milked it enough. She should be somewhere being utilized as a Sworn Officer like reviewing reports since she was a Sgt at one time, but then again you have a Senior Sgt in computer Ops that CPD has to keep officer certified.........................while he works on computers.

What about the scam going on? Is it not against some kind of policy? How can you be on light duty and obtain overtime? I thought that wasn't allowed. These are the topics that should be addressed. Not the Comm Center employee soap opera B.S. There is a clear, documented incident of something wrong and it gets overlooked. Typical.

Did any of you folks ever think of an item called a grievance??
