Just wanted to drop a line to say hey and get some info on employment. I have worked for the Department of Corrections for 14 years and am looking to do something different with in the State. I have been reading about your dilemma concerning pay and retention and can sympathize. Most state Correctional Officer leaves us to go to the county. Knowing the problems you guys are having, I still have a desire to come there and work. I do not have the LE standards and am wondering the PD sponsors people to the academy?
Any info you guys can give concerning hiring process, time frames, what you?re looking for etc, I would appreciate. I would like to submit my application but want to make sure I have it squared away.
I am a little older then most and think this job would be a perfect fit. I am use to be a poor state employee and do not need constant adrenaline anymore.
