Are you able to add lights to your take home car? If so I was wondering if anyone could provide a copy of their policy or procedure on adding lights to a department vehicle. Our union is pushing to allow our Deputies to put lights in our cars so we are looking to mirror other agencies policies. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you and stay safe.

Yes we used to be allowed until staff decided well some people can't afford it .. Well you know what screw them if you can afford it you can if you cant well obviously your living way above your means. So good luck getting the extra lights most agencies allow it. due to its free officer safety the agency does not have to pay for.

It had nothing to do with affordability. It's uniformity. I am the last one to stand up for the administration, but two rear deck lights, a whelen LED light bar you can see from space and a TIR3 light on each side of the push guard are suffice. Oh yea wig wags for head lights and tail lights in 08 impalas look pretty professional. If you want to bash the radio system have at it, but the light package is a good one.
