I'm a FL certified leo and I'm curious as to your days on and days off. What are your schedules there? I worked 4 days on with 3 days off and loved it.

Also if anyone could let me know how your in cruiser computers are. How much or how little can they do?

I appreciate the information. Stay safe out there.

Our shifts are based on the 12 hours schedule, but we work 11 1/2 hour shifts, and every sunday worked is 11 hours. This is due to the admin not wanting to pay the extra six hours that the 12 hour shift creates. We have three shifts. 0600-1830, 1500-0230, and 1900-0630 (totally defeating the concept of 12 hour shifts). We also have to work 86 hours in OC before we can claim overtime. The PBA is currently talking them down to 84 hours before OT sets in (laughable if you ask me). BUT with that said. This is a GREAT agency to work for. I have no regrets coming here.

I forgot to address the computer issue. Our computers and our IMS are top of the line. Everything you would need to do police work is on them.

With the 12 hour shifts, how does the schedule work for days on and days off? Is it 4 on 4 off like Tampa or something different?

You work Mon,Tues..off Wed, Thu..work Fri-Sun..then do the reverse the second week. Off Mon,Tue..Work Wed,Thu..Off Fri-Sun. Basicly you work 7 out of 14 days with every other weekend off.

Dam that 86 hour work week period sucks. we should only have to work 40 a week and get ot after that like the rest of the real world.
