Pruitt's office said the Senate gave bonuses of $3,500 to Alan Johansen and Ellen Fournier of the Finance and Tax Committee and Richard Herring of the president's office. Kathy Mears, Pruitt's communications director, got $1,500 along with Jaryn Emhof, an aide to Sen. Dan Webster, R-Winter Garden, and Jan Blue of the Bill Drafting office.

Community Affairs Committee staffers Tom Yeatman and Karen Malloy also got $1,000 bonuses. One employee in the Senate sergeant-at-arms office got a $150 bonus and five got $100 each.

Ward said Rubio gave no bonuses in the House.

Senate promotions

In addition to the Senate bonuses, Pruitt approved promotions and pay raises for:

Ray Wilson, Governmental Operations Committee, staff director to senior staff director, $8,520.

Jeff Poole, Agriculture Committee, staff director to senior staff director, $8,536.

Brian Deffenbaugh, Banking and Insurance Committee, staff director to senior staff director, $8,184.

Booter Imhof, Regulated Industries Committee, staff director to senior staff director, $8,712.

John Guthrie, Reapportionment/IT Office, staff director to senior staff director, $9,216.

Shirley Procter, Judiciary Committee, administrative assistant to senior administrative assistant, $4,292.

Tracy Cantella, Secretary of the Senate's Office, senior administrative assistant to program specialist, $3,780.

Michelle DeMarco, Democratic Office, legislative analyst to senior legislative analyst, $5,724.

Sandra Blizzard, General Government Appropriations, legislative analyst to senior legislative analyst, $6,936.

Miguel Oxamendi, Regulated Industries Committee, attorney to senior attorney, $5,628.

Lora Bedford, Health Policy Committee, senior legislative analyst to senior attorney, $3,684.

Ann West, Sergeant at Arms Office, senior administrative assistant to program specialist, $3,600.

Debbie Brown, Senate President's Office, senior administrative assistant to executive assistant, $5,952.

Unfortunatley, it seems that many of our folk are more concerned with how many blue lights they have in their cars!
