I am currently in the academy and I am fixing to graduate soon. I have a list of things I hope will get answered about SJSO.

1. Is the starting salary still $33k?
2. What type of firearms are issued to Road Patrol?
3. Do you have your Reports on the laptops(ie Cops More) or are they still hand written?
4. How long is FTO?
5. How many Deputies are currently employed?
6. How are the work schedules set up (ie Rotation between days and nights)
7. How are the work cycles set up (ie I know JSO has 5/4 4/5)
8. Are you allowed window tint in your cruisers?
9. Is the health insurance Free to the employee and employee's family?
10. What are the requirements for promotions?

Thanks! :D

Call recruiting. That's a good list, however not good for a public forum. 33,000 for a newby w/out experience until October then going to 36,000 starting. Smartcop system in the cars and yes 90% of reports done on your laptop to include writing UTC's, excellent firearms issued, get with recruiting (904)824-8304 or 18003467576 for the brands issued. Takehome tri county, medical for yourself and 110.00 a pay period for your family however we do have our own county employee M.D which is free to immediate family. You do not use your deductible for our physician, on for referrals. Hope that helps. Good Luck.

If anyone can chime it, that would be great! It is best to get information from both the Deputies as well as the recruiters.

I recently visited your town and loved it, I was wondering how is it working for you agency. I have ten years as a leo with a southwest agency. How would one go about gettting a ride along?
