Not sure what you are trying to say, but that statute is for Musquito control and has nothing to do with sunpass, and there is no .155 subsection. Try again.

I think he meant 338.155 (1) "Any law enforcement officer operating a marked official vehicle is exempt from toll payment when on official law enforcement business (going home is NOT official law enforcement business. Any person operating a fire vehicle when on official business or a rescue vehicle when on official business is exempt from toll payment".

Last time I checked, ANYTIME you are operating a marked unit you are considered on duty. Have you ever ridden in a police car? Obviosly not because there have way too many instances when someone you consider to be off duty (On your way home is not considered on-duty) have stumbled upon drunk drivers, rolling domestics, cars or buses full of kids upside down on the turnpike....remember that one moron? Not to mention your run in the mill DAV or back up for FHP.

Anyway, if you operated a marked car instead of an unmarked car where you no doubt have driven right past one or more of these incidents you would would not be making retarded comments on being off-duty when you are in a marked car!

A blast from the past.

How about semi-annual shift bids AND annual district bids all based on seniority? Most agencies let you bid for your district/precinct/sector/area. Why do we have to be stuck in ours?

07-04-2008, 05:35 PM
Because all the rookies would be in one district, dummy.

Because all the rookies would be in one district, dummy.

AND because certain contract cities have to approve the personnel and only allow so many people to move in one year. Come up with a logical thing to complain about.....
