Ok, Am I missing something? The two officers were given seven days off for misreading their MDT's (or whatever)? And the investigation found that they did not mistreat the complainants? Are you kidding me? Was the PBA or FOP Rep made aware of this? This punishment sounds kind of harsh, even by the Park's standards. I would appeal this big time. Yes it was an error, but 7 days no pay. I think I would use my seven days wisely to fill out some apps. What is the general consensus amongst the officers and supervisors about this incident? After all, "YOU" could be next. Is the park setting these officers up for a fall?

Great job FOP, time for change is here.

If you were really there you would all the complaining they are doing recently about wages & union, sure you work there?

I always find it fascinating that people that have the most opinionated views are always the ones that are the most ill informed. From the tone of the comment, I can only imagine that it might be someone not even in law enforcement. Either way, I invite the person to call me and we can discuss the merits of an appeal. Heck, maybe this revered and judicious intellect can give me some pointers on legal issues surrounding disciplinary hearings and appeals.

Very true. If people knew all the facts. They would not comment and put this issue to rest.

To Ken and the park officer. You are right. We do not know the facts. All we have to go by is the article in the St. Pete times. Please enlighten us. Are you both claiming that the seven days off was justified? Maybe it was, I really don't know. Please advise.

What we need is more supervision out there.....one lieutenant, 2 sergeants and 2 SPO's isn't enough...maybe we can create assistant SPO's, crew leaders, private first classes or commodores.

Does anyone else notice that the rate of screw ups has incresed since they made 50% of the agency a supervisor?

No my friend, Pinellas Park has always been the breeding ground of true morons.
