More officers are killed every year by motor vehicle accidents than by all other means combined.

Below is a link that updates daily of all "In Line of Duty" deaths from around the country. The frequency is staggering.

It is sad to see how many officers die as a result of something that is easy to control. We train every year on High Liability issues and yet the thing we do the most, we do the worst.

I am not saying to not speed when responding to a call BUT slowing down a little just may save your life.

Please think about these officers when responding to your next call.

Sad but true. I am from an agency north of you and I would like to say that is refreshing to see a message board used fro what it was intended for....good information. If this had been posted under my agencies board, the "kids" would have shown up, made rude comments, and said that it would never happen to them. Hats off to Collier Co. SO....very professional image that we could all learn from. 8)
