Wondering what the word is on the new Impalas? Anyone with the Impala care to give the good or bad points?

Smaller, but faster and more efficient.

I have driven an impalia before....no thank you. For a county like Santa Rosa they aren't a good idea. If you work in a city with no dirt roads or rural areas they might be ok. Oh and don't even think about cutting through the median.

then don't go 4 wheeling. the impalia can go wherever the vic can. the bad thing about them is the trunk space and if your a fatty you are fu@%ed.

04-20-2007, 11:14 PM
They are lousy. Sluggish on take off, cramped, no trunk space, noisy on the inside...need I say more? Maybe fop needs to do a contract the says we should drive full size cars (lol)

For those driving them, the Impalas are death traps. Do you think the Lt in Fleet drives on evey day? I wonder why.

04-22-2007, 10:56 AM
my guess would be because he's a fat ass!!!

04-22-2007, 02:42 PM
I would take a crusty old crown vic with over 100,00 miles over a brand new impala. Oh wait, I have a crsuty old criwn vic with 100,000.

04-28-2007, 10:34 PM
I have to agree with the crusty crown vic. The new impalas are death traps. I hope we have a contract wrecker on standy so when they break down we dont have to wait forever. Too bad LB dont drive one everyday maybe he'll change his mind

Impalas suck. They suck bad. I want my old crown vic back. Anyone wanna trade? 2007 Impala one owner, low miles, a real cream puff. The fleet Lt needs to be ashamed of himself.

It all come done to the money!!!! The S.O. saves approx. 3 grand per car to be used ELSEWHERE. As usual, patrol gets "SCREWED OVER". I wish a study could be done from the time they started using them compared to the maint/repair costs of a Crown Vic. I know mine NEVER gave me a problem plus it got great gas mileage for a car of it's size and weight.
Mistake Santa Rosa!!!!!!! But then again, they let LB "Design" those wonderfully thought out District Offices too........NOT! Oh but then again, he never had to work in one that was too crampt, no holding or interview rooms, and inadequate parking.
Sorry for the rant...................................

Genius, shear genius. Did LB get a great deal on that brand new chevy truck or what? Got the Impalas about the same time. Coincidence? :x

Didnt they stop making the Crown Vic's? All that blowing up and burning people to death had an impact on sales. Yes the impalas are teeny tiny matchbox looking things and I'd hate to have to ride in the back of one if I was over 4 ft 10 inches. But a new car is a new car; we should be lucky we have them. And not speaking for LB, but whose business is it if he buys a new truck? He is not spending your money to make the payments is he?

05-27-2007, 12:03 PM
Ford is making the crown vic till 2009 and will change to a new body and a 300 hp stock engine. Those tiny match box cars are death traps. If Dan was driving one he would have been killed

Who's cars have been sitting across the street from the KIA dealer in Milton then? All crown vics.

05-30-2007, 03:14 PM
Not ours. Nope we will never get crown vics again until our admin see for themselves the impalas are POS cars

06-28-2007, 01:31 AM
If yall have any input towards your fleet or agency decision. We strongly recommend against the impalas. The ONLY thing good about them is gas millage. Our bigger deputies and FTOs still get Crown Vics because there is no way to put two deputies in those cars. Good luck

06-29-2007, 11:01 AM
We have input but we are told "tough @#%&" Our concerns fall on deaf ears. Gas mileage is not much better.

07-02-2007, 04:21 PM
That's ok. Just remember deaf ears can be deaf votes.

Cone on now, RC is a great supervisor. Now that he's got G4S, he's golden. Well, except for the fact that he's still branded a liar and his word don't mean $hit.
