PBA Update

As you all know, Jim Wiggins from PBA in Tallahasse was going to meet with the Sheriff and attempt to work through some of our differences. When Jim spoke with the Sheriff last week he was advised by her that he would have to speak with her attorney in reference to these matters. We were all under the impression including Jim that he would be able to speak directly with the Sheriff and work through the issues. When Jim spoke with the Sheriff's attorney this weekend he was advised that the Sheriff was sticking with her offer and was not willing to deal with anything else. Jim advised the attorney that we would accept the pay plan but with a one year contract to allow the members to get their pay increase for this year. Jim was again advised that the only deal the Sheriff would accept was a three year contract with the one opener to discuss the longevity issue next year.

We will be attempting to talk directly to the Sheriff next week when she returns from Tallahasse.
