View Full Version : Photo of Deputy Released to Media

If anyone from our beloved FOP sees this, why is the agency being allowed to release a photo of law enforcement officer to the media. If I am correct, these photos are supposed to be exempt from public records requests. Unless the officer has signed the release given out by the agency several years ago, the AGENCY or the PERSON who released such photo needs to be held accountable. I also believe that a "booking photo" of an officer is also exempt from release. In the case I am referring to the deputy's "personnel" photo was released. The FOP needs to address this with the agency!!!

Look at this link to see how the PBA "reacted" when the same issue came up at the ECSO:

Just wish the FOP would do the same for us - that is to file a complaint with the agency or SAO on behalf of all of us that it "represents"!!!

By the way, the incident referenced in the original post is not the first time that our agency has released photos of leo's. This needs to be addressed!!!

They made us sign release forms a couple of years ago. You could check yes or no as to having your image released.

Who's photo was released and why?

I'm not familiar with whose photo was released. But, if that deputy was a member of the FOP and had not signed a release, he/she could've very well lodged a complaint and the FOP would've followed up on it.
